Celebrating Our Mission in Sierra Leone

It has always been our commitment at Zimmi Diamonds to support and nurture the communities we work with in Sierra Leone, so this week is an extra special moment for our teams in Antwerp and Africa as we celebrate the opening of Dr Kadi A Sesay Girls Secondary School in Port Loko.

Since we launched four years ago, we have been involved with The Mercury International Charitable Foundation through our partner based in Sierra Leone, Max Brandwain. Max launched the foundation in 2007 as the charitable arm of his company, Mercury International and its aim is to support the education and social needs of communities in Sierra Leone, including this amazing new school dedicated to supporting women's education.

We are honoured that His Excellency Dr Julius Maada Bio, President of the Republic of Sierra Leone will be opening the school on 8th October, and we hope that this is just the start of many more projects that are an inspiring example of how the private sector can meaningfully contribute to the development of the people of Sierra Leone and the communities who are so vital in bringing their beautiful diamonds to the world.
